In anticipation of the kickoff for the PWHL launch on January 1st, each day I will highlight a PWHL personality.
Jessie Eldridge made a bold move in 10th grade, leaving her hometown of Barrie, Ontario, to venture solo and join the Aeros. She attended Colgate University, captaining the squad in her senior year. After graduating, she joined the PWHPA’s Montreal team for its inaugural year. Following that season, Eldridge found herself in a unique position, earning her first opportunity to attend the national team’s camp with the senior team as an overager.
Despite missing the cut for the 2022 Olympic team, Jessie found her redeemed herself by securing a spot on the World Championship team, ultimately winning the gold medal.
Typically, professional athletes have an attachment to a certain number, whether for sentimental reasons or as the number assigned by their coach during their early years. However, Jessie diverges from this trend; she has not adhered to a single number. Throughout her career, she has changed her number too many times to count, embracing a “go with the flow” mentality.
Can’t wait to watch her shine in NY!
